Afro News welcomes writers from across Russia.
We provide a platform where Africans living in Russia can share stories, experiences, and useful information from the cities they live in, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, and beyond.
You do not need formal journalism experience. If you can write clearly and share reliable information, you can contribute.
Who Can Write
We accept contributions from anyone with a connection to the African community, whether based in Russia or abroad.
You may be a student, worker, or resident. What matters is your understanding of your environment and your ability to communicate information clearly and responsibly.
What You Can Write About
We publish original articles on topics such as:
- Life in your city (culture, places, and everyday experiences)
- Personal experiences as an African in Russia.
- Practical guides for newcomers (visas, housing, banking, transport)
- African-owned businesses and community events
- Culture, food, music, and entertainment
- Stories relevant to Africans living in Russia
We do not publish political content or opinion pieces related to political matters.

Earn From Your Writing
Writers are compensated for each published article:
- 300 RUB per article (700–800 words)
- Articles are paid upon publication
- Regular contributors may publish multiple articles per week
- Active writers may be invited to become City Correspondents with higher rates (up to 500 RUB per article)
This provides a consistent opportunity to earn from writing while contributing to a growing media platform.
