MOSCOW – In a significant step toward deepening diplomatic and economic relations, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Borisenko Evgenievich, formally received Nigeria’s newly appointed Ambassador to Russia, Joseph Iji, during a high-profile audience in Moscow.
The official meeting was disclosed in a statement released in Abuja by Ms. Daria Senyushina, the Communications Officer at the Russian Embassy in Nigeria. According to the diplomatic briefing, Ambassador Iji officially presented copies of his credentials to the Russian official during his visit, marking the formal commencement of his diplomatic duties in the Russian capital.
Advancing a Strategic Multi-Sector Partnership
The high-level discussions centered heavily on moving the needle on the long-standing, cordial relationship between Nigeria and Russia. Both officials explored strategic pathways to intensify political engagement and rapidly expand bilateral cooperation across a broad spectrum of critical sectors.
