Global music sensation BTS have announced that they will not submit their music for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, a decision that has sparked widespread discussion among fans and the global music industry.
The announcement was made through identical messages posted by all seven members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook on their Instagram Stories.

“We have decided not to submit for the Grammys this year. We hope music can be listened to and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language. Thank you to ARMY and everyone who has always supported us.”
The message did not elaborate on the reasons behind the decision, but its emphasis on music being appreciated regardless of language has generated significant conversation online.
BTS, formed in 2013 under BigHit Music, have become one of the most influential music groups in the world. Beyond dominating the K-pop industry, the South Korean septet have broken numerous international records, sold out stadiums across multiple continents, topped charts in countries around the globe, and built one of the largest fan communities in music history, known as ARMY.
The group has also made history at the Grammy Awards over the years. BTS became the first K-pop act to receive a Grammy nomination and have earned multiple nominations, including for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, although they have yet to win a Grammy despite their global commercial success and critical acclaim.
The announcement comes as BTS continue a new chapter in their career following the completion of the members’ mandatory military service in South Korea.
