Ayomide Gideon, a songwriter and singer, popularly known as Triggah, has officially released his debut album titled ‘Awa Mafia Vol. 1’. Triggah is a Moscow-based African artist originally from Lagos, Nigeria. In his interview with AfroNews, he described himself as unique and one of the best in his craft.
Awa Mafia Vol. 1 contains nine tracks, totaling 25 minutes of audio. His musical style is distinct, drawing comparisons to greats like Da Grin and Olamide. According to him, “These two musicians are my real role models, I admired them right from my youthful days.”
The nine-track album features fellow African musician Elochi and Captain Hood, who is also based in Moscow and whom Triggah describes as “Oba Orin” (King of Music). Other featured artists include Shanks and EMGEE. “I could have featured some Russian musicians, but the timing wasn’t on our side. We will be releasing works with Russian musicians soon,” he added.

During his interview with AfroNews, Triggah urged African entertainers in Russia to stay original and ignore discouragement. “It is not promising to be easy, but that is where real talent comes up,” he stated, referring to a popular saying in Russia: “If anything would fail you, your talent will not fail you.” When asked what he has to tell his fans, Triggah said: “Stay real. If we are not dead, we will be dedicated.”
