Bruno Guimarães has made his first appearance for Arsenal as the Premier League champions rounded off their pre-season campaign with a 1–1 draw against Cesc Fàbregas’ Como at the Emirates Stadium.
The Brazilian midfielder, who arrived from Newcastle in a deal reported at around £75 million, was introduced from the bench as Mikel Arteta continued to assess his squad ahead of the new campaign. Arsenal eventually prevailed 4–3 on penalties after the friendly finished level. (Sky Sports)

For Guimarães, however, the result was secondary to finally wearing the Arsenal shirt in a competitive match environment. His arrival has added further quality and experience to Arteta’s midfield as Arsenal prepare to defend their Premier League crown and compete across multiple fronts.
The friendly may not have produced a decisive result after 90 minutes, but it offered Arteta something arguably more valuable: another glimpse of what his revamped squad can offer.
With the competitive season now approaching, Arsenal’s new signing has made his first steps in red and white.
