US Unveils Names, Photos of 124 Nigerians on ICE Deportation List Amid Trump’s Immigration Crackdown

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has publicly identified 124 Nigerians among foreign nationals facing deportation after being convicted of criminal offences in the United States, marking another phase of the Trump administration’s intensified immigration enforcement campaign.

The names and photographs of the affected Nigerians were published on the DHS website on Wednesday as part of what the agency described as its updated “Worst of the Worst Criminal Aliens” register.

According to the department, those listed were arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and have criminal convictions that make them priorities for removal under current immigration enforcement policies.

While the identities of the individuals have now been made public, U.S. authorities did not specify the exact offences committed by each person or provide a timeline for when deportation proceedings would be completed

In a statement accompanying the publication, the DHS said the initiative underscores its commitment to removing non-citizens convicted of serious crimes from the United States.

“The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of the worst criminal aliens arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE),” the agency said.

The department further stated:

“Under DHS leadership, the hardworking men and women of DHS and ICE are fulfilling President Donald Trump’s promise and carrying out mass deportations—starting with the worst of the worst—including the illegal aliens you see here.

The list includes dozens of Nigerians such as Sunday Adediora, Sunday Kunkushi, Marcus Unigwe, Olaniyi Ojikutu, Emmanuel Mayegun Adeola, Ejike Asiegbunam, Joshua Ineh, Usman Momoh, Oluwole Odunowo, Oriyomi Aloba, Olatunde Oladinni, Olajide Olateru-Olagbegi, Omotayo Akinto, Kenneth Unanka, Uche Diuno, Boluwatife Afolabi, Chukwuemeka Okorie, Chima Orji, Abdul Akinsanya, Oluchi Jennifer, Chibuzo Nwaonu, among many others.

The publication of the register comes as the Trump administration continues to implement stricter immigration policies following President Donald Trump’s return to the White House in January 2025

Since resuming office, the administration has expanded immigration raids, increased ICE operations, and prioritised the deportation of undocumented immigrants with criminal records as part of its broader mass deportation agenda.

Although the DHS maintains that those listed have been convicted of serious offences, it has not released detailed information about the individual convictions or confirmed when the affected Nigerians will be repatriated.

The latest disclosure is expected to draw attention in Nigeria, where previous deportations of citizens from the United States have often prompted discussions about migration, criminal justice, and consular support for affected nationals.

For now, the publication of the names serves as a public notice of individuals whom U.S. immigration authorities say are among those targeted in the government’s ongoing effort to remove foreign nationals convicted of criminal offences from the country.
