The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has published the names and photographs of 24 Nigerian nationals arrested by immigration authorities across the country over alleged criminal offences, as President Donald Trump’s administration intensifies its deportation drive.
The arrests were carried out by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in different locations, with allegations ranging from wire fraud and money laundering to drug-related offences, identity theft, assault, forgery and child cruelty.
In announcing the arrests, DHS described the individuals as part of its campaign against non-US citizens with criminal records who have been apprehended by immigration enforcement officers.
“The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of worst criminal aliens arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE),” the department said.
It added that DHS and ICE officers were carrying out President Trump’s mass deportation pledge, beginning with individuals the administration considers high-priority targets for removal.
The department’s published list identifies the Nigerian nationals, the alleged offences associated with their cases and the locations where they were arrested.

Trump Administration Intensifies Deportation Drive
The publication of the names and photographs comes amid the Trump administration’s broader immigration enforcement campaign, which has prioritised the arrest and removal of certain non-citizens.
DHS has presented the arrests as evidence of its efforts to enforce immigration laws and pursue individuals accused of criminal activity.
However, the allegations listed by the department should not automatically be interpreted as convictions in every case. An arrest or allegation does not, by itself, establish guilt, and the status and outcome of each individual case may differ.
The latest disclosure places the 24 Nigerian nationals among those publicly identified by US immigration authorities as part of the administration’s enforcement efforts.
